I agree I just have to see how the QB situation pans out that will be critical to how the season goes..

I don't think anyone can possibly disagree with that. It seems like 2/3 of those things are in place, so hopefully it's a step in the right direction. Not to funnel blame away from Rex, but I think had their been stronger and more responsible management in place, they would have aided him tremendously in his development. I don't think it's any coincidence that great coaches typically have great Owners and or GMs. I think most Rex has done a well with the **** hand he'd been dealt up to this season.

But I have faith that Rex can turn guys like Barnes/Harris/Davis/Mcintyre/Random rookie into a decent group of LBers. The DL is pretty solid already. And we played most of last year with Cro/Kyle at the CB.

The main weakness now is at safety, but he has managed to "make it work" with the likes of Leonard/E. Smith for the last few years, so i'm sure he can make it work with Allen/Bush/????

Of course, our offense will still be a glaring weakness, but all hope is not lost heading into this season. At least not for me.
I disagree. Pass rusher has been and still is the main weakness of this defense. It is the most important position on Def IMO. We know we can stop the run and cover. But we need to get immediate pressure without having to resort to the blitz on passing downs.

I think that will be our priority this draft and I think we need to sign another OLB in FA (Dumervil or Butler please!)

I dont know what team we are all watching.

we have a bad O line
Bad Rb's
Bad wr's
mediocre QB
no pass rush

you guys hopeful for a wildcard spot next year....i dont get it. for what? to lose it in the first week of the playoffs?

we need a complete re-vamp. clean house time

How much more of a revamp do you want? The entire team is changing over. We seem to only be keeping, young, fast players...

Unless their contracts prohibit it.

The salary cap stop us from signing big free agents, but will be cleared up for next year.

What would you do differently as GM?

Wild card games give us an extra week of complaining to do. And we love drafting around #15. It's the bomb.

Well said.

Some fans would rather build wonderful 9-7 teams every year rather then swallow some tough medication and rebuild.

You forgot to mention:

Bad Safeties
No TE who can both block and be a factor in the passing game
No depth at D-Line
A clown for HC

What guarentee does a really bad year give us?! What if we end up with the 3rd pick and the one QB we want and is the real deal is gone?! What if we end up like the Lions, Browns etc. who have been horrible for years?!

Yeah, then what...
