Yup the trend says he's missing less games and getting healthier...he missed 5 games last year, maybe this year he will miss 1 and then 0 next year? Optimistic!

Patriots just let Welker walk, and gave 5 year, $30m+ contract to an "if" guy.

We spent $1.2m and only committed to this guy for 1 year. It's a fine move, if we end up going BPA and take Warmack at #9, and we re-sign Slauson, we no longer have OL depth issues like we did last year.

People forget, aside from bad QB play, and Revis getting hurt, the sudden drop-off by the OL was probably the most jarring issue last year.

This could be a sweet move!!

Does anyone know if Colon is healthy? When were his biceps and achilles tears? Did he get surgery to repair a torn achilles or did he go the Landry platelet replacement BS ?

Nice pickup. Now draft Warmack at #9 and our starting offensive line is set. They should also bring back Slauson as a backup/injury replacement.

He was on Sirius the other day before he got released (Sirius knew before he did that he was getting released) and he says that he is really healthy. We'll see.

So he won't be a semi-colon after all

It's important to go into he draft without any ridiculously glaring holes that would force you to take a position even if its not the BAP.

Colon gives the team flexibility. If they draft Warmack or Caleb S. decides he's a real player, this move doesn't block them.

Hopefully the Jets will find a decent safety for a reasonable price too.

Nice to see no leaks coming out of Florham Park too. Not a particularly sexy move, but ordinarily we would have heard the conjecture way before the signing.

What's the latest in Barnes?

Edit - just saw the latest in the Barnes thread

2008 not a good Draft?

@EdBouchette: End of an error, the #Steelers 2008 draft class. Busts galore early, disappointment all around. The gruesome tale: http://t.co/onK3xpbQFq

Plus he can play RT/G at the very worst he becomes a good backup. For 1.2 million there is ZERO risk.

Smart move. If we are rebuilding(which it's obvious we are) next year, you take a chance on a high risk/reward type player. Antwaan Barnes also fits this mold. If they don't pan out, then move on after next year. If they return to form and show they can stay healthy, then you have the inside track to resign them the following off-season, and your looking to fill less hole. This doesn't prevent the Jets from still drafting a guard(or a LB in Barnes case, if he ends up a Jet).

He's a better run blocker than Slauson, still would like to see the FO resign Moore and give whichever junk QB we trot out a chance to play without getting their head ripped off.
