Preferred Victor Butler, but I'll take Barnes. Still need at least two more OLBs, though.

Nice, one more glaring hole at least partially filled. Interested in the $ and term.

Hopefully he's healthy and motivated.
Seems like another low cost option that won't preclude the Jets from going OLB in the draft if the situation dictates. Good move. |

Still will be rooting for Ansah or Dion Jordan to drop. Mingo has star upside, just not as sure about him. Jarvis Jones wouldn't be bad but he doesn't have that elite 16 sack potential.

If he starts the Jets are in serious difficulty. The real starter is in the draft.
Backup and ST, fine. Start - no. |

He has more sack potential than any of those guys and he is a safer pick as well.

Basically, if we were to get Barnes and Butler for about $2.5 mill each, we'd have younger faster and cheaper OLBs on our team, meaning a huge upgrade to our cap and our D. Supplement that with Jones/Jordan at #9 and we go from being weak to having a very sturdy base at OLB. |

If the Jets get the 2011 version of this guy, fans will be pleased. Nice to see Idzik close here, as there were at least 6 suitors for this guy.
Looks like people are willing to play for the Jets after all...

Not trying to turn this into a draft discussion, but I think Jones has the most "sack potential" out of any of these guys day 1 if he's healthy. The others could develop into nice OLBs but Jones is basically ready to beast out as long as his spine stays together.

Nice signing by Jets to get Antwan Barnes. Will help them out in their sub package defense if nothing else. Productive pass rusher. |

Nice player, certainly has the speed the team lacked last year at the position.
