Rogers, a Matawan High grad, signed with the Dolphins, in part, because he was promised to be the team's primary kick returner. The Jets weren't prepared to guarantee that to Rogers. Also, it is believed the Dolphins offered Rogers a better deal. Terms of the deal were unavailable.

My question here is why wouldn't they promise him the job, he is only making 550k, if they couldn't promise him the job, who else do they have in mind???

I like the fact that the JETS wouldnt hand the job over.You should have to earn the position, it shouldnt be handed to you in the off season.
