I remember hearing earlier this year that if Valentine goes back to coaching this year, he has to give back the money he made from ESPN- not sure if it was for the 2003 season only, or if it carried into this year. I still think he is biding his time, and waiting for George to call the minute after Torre leaves, or is canned.

Joe Torre is set to get paid $6 million next year. His sisters live pretty close to me here in Marine Park. He was by no means poor, but this kind of money isn't easy to come by . He wasn't all that wealthy before this run. He's not walking away, especially when he has moved his offseason home to to Hawaii. He's been a good manager, but in all honesty, the Yankees under Steinbrenner will be there every year. He's not going to get that kind of money or that kind of talent and opportunity every season anyplace else. And being the manager of some other team doesn't afford you near as much money in commercials and speaking fees(though why anyone pays money to hear Pitino, Torre or Herman Edwards babble on is beyond me).

Bobby V? The same guy who left Al Leiter in the game too long in Game 5 of the 2000 World Series? LOL.

If Bobby V becomes a bench coach for the Sox, Grady Little will be canned shortly after the season gets started and V will take over. Bank on it.
Not fair to Grady, but he really was out-managed by Torre this series, especially in Game 7, when it counted. |

Grady Little should return as the Red Sox MANAGER. At least you know he'd never make the same mistake again.

Maybe cross dressing idiot is too far, but he is the one that dawned the porn star mustache to get back on the field incognito.

Bobby V is an idiot - if Grady doesn't come back then the Red Sox should sign Tom Kelly. He always did a great job with the Twins and has post season experience
