...and we don't win the championsip, at least we'll always know that we kept the Red Sox from winning it.

There's some comfort in that. Can you imagine how unbearable it would have been to be a stepping stone to a Boston championsip?

I still want the victory, though!

Don't worry, something tells me that there will be some comfort in New England if the Yankees lose either game 6 or 7.

Simply put: $185 MILLION DOLLARS should guarantee a World Series victory in less than 7 games every time!!! The Yanks are in a world of trouble if they can no longer outbid the rest of the field for a World Series ring! As a Met fan, I won't make that much noise about payroll, but you Yankee fans know what I'm talking about. If the boss has to go YET ANOTHER YEAR without a ring, heads will undoubtedly roll. There will be lots of questions to answer:

-Cashman is all but assured to wind up as Mets GM know that Minaya has been given a job in the Front Office

-Is Torre far behind if the Yanks lose?

-Clemens is gone, will Wells be far behind?

-Is Pettite worth a long term contract for $20 mil per year if he can't get it done tonight?

-Is Soriano?

-What to do with Bernie? Giambi? Nick Johnson?

If payroll is the answer, why didn't the Mets win the NL pennant?

Damn, I get sick of crybabies.

Andy is pitching well and we are really making Beckett work, we're going to win this one.

Short 4th inning for Beckett that time. He's at 53 pitches through 4 so far.

Yeah that was a terrible inning, we were working him well up until that point. Big moment now as there are 2 on and 2 out.

We're down 1-0 as Posada fails to block the plate AGAIN! and it's not over yet as Cabrera is up w/ the bases loaded but luckily Andy strikes him out.

Speaking of working the pitcher...Andy really struggled in the last 5th inning he'll ever pitch in Pinstripes

We just can't get a big hit w/ RISP.

Now FLA has 1st & 3rd w/ 1 out, any more than 1 run here and this game is over w/ our bats.

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And make a brand new start of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll brand a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York.
