The crumbling empire of Rush Limbaugh returns.

Better fill up on your prescriptions of Nexium and Zoloft.

Maybe you'd better stock up on the Viagra for the little lady too!

Rush is a has been.

I have it on good authority that he'll soon be facing serious drug charges, and if convicted they carry mandatory prison sentences.

In a country that gives first and second time murderers, rapists and child molestors a second chance, I doubt Limbaugh will see any serious jail time.

Marion Barry (another fine example of the party you identify with) went to jail for a similiar type offense and came out to win another term as mayor.

So, if Rush goes to prison, in this twisted, liberal dominated culture, he'll only return twice as popular.

I don't think so, people who distribute the amount of drugs Rush seems to have don't ordinarily do well with conservatives.

BTW, the jackass isn't a serious commentator anyway he's merely an entertainer.

I'm conservative . But I've long thought think Rush is a simple-minded blowhard, and that his meglomania led to some of his problems. I don't know about his specific situation , but I've been around addicts professionally and personally. I can't imagine his treatment(which is really just beginning) will be helped by going right back to work. It might feed some of the pathologies that led to these problems in the first place. I genuinely wish him well, but I can't imagine any counselor or doctor told him to get right back in the thick fo things. This is all about his ego. And it's not like he needs money. Limabugh may want to kid himself, but the only things that seperate him from the junkies on line for the toxic orange syrup down at the methadone clinic is that he has money and a nice house.By the same token, I don't think our government resources are well-spent incarcerating drug users, no matter how wealthy or poor. Even at the level of Limabugh's crimes(if you think they even are that) there isn't any court in America that wouldn't defer him to a treatment program.

That's pretty much my view, Bugg. I'm no fan of Limbaugh, though I do NOT think he is a hateful racist by any means. I just think he's a bit of an arrogant jerk, albeit a successful one.

I just can't see how he won't be charged, unless he copped a plea and sang like a canary about his supplier. I mean, he had a very large quantity of illegal drugs in his possession, right? How can he NOT be charged criminally??

Rush had more than 40,000 pills in his possesion, and they have him dead to rights going through at least 35,000 per year! The DEA normaly considers these kind of quantities as a sign of a distributor and not merely a user.

Unless Rush gets some kind of special treatment he's looking @ prison time. Let's see how Ashcroft and Co. handle this one.

He is definately an entertainer. It entertains the hell out of me knowing he pisses off the left and I enjoy listening to him and his parodies.

If he goes, one of the many conservatives will take his place: Hannity, Drudge, Savage, Reagan, Liddy, Coulter, and on and on!

I don't have to listen to Rush to deal with the likes of you two. I just have to use my brains.

And what would you do without moveon.org to get your daily prop...information?

Yeah they're kinda like that guy in the movie "A Bronx Tale". Remember the guy who lost every bet. I liked the scene when they were at the Track and the Don found out he bet on the same horse as he did. The Don tore up his tickets on the spot even though the horse had the lead and sure enough the horse crapped out down the stretch.

In that case, you and tailgators are the smartest, most informed conservatives I've ever debated.

No offense Tail - but sometimes I print off your posts and bring them home and everyone I know (liberals included) laughs hysterically at your ridiculous thoughts. Now whenever anyone says something really ignorant or stupid everyone says, 'Easy there, Tailgators.' You're a running joke.

This is a true story, but probably an indication that I go onto this site way too much!!

How's John Kerry's campaign going?

The Kerry Campaign isn't going so well. But the voting hasn't started yet. Interestly enough he's kinda like the YANKEES back in July and August everyone was writing them off then at the end of September they had the best record in baseball. One difference though he won't lose Florida. Too many people will be watching this time for Jeb to steal it.

It's funny what you said about being a running joke because here at work whenever an assclown comes into the office he's labeled as a (fill in the blank) 5-ever!

You're also enjoying running joke status Jets5ever! Welcome aboard!

BTW...Everyone loved your whiney bad back story and how it bothers you when you play tennis. We were in tears we were laughing so hard. One of my co-workers predicted you'd post an excuse like that even before you did!

Good to see some sensible commentary from 5ever and Bugg on this one. How is this even an issue? The guy built a portion of his legacy on broad stereotypes about drug users and zero tolerance, and got nailed with 40,000 pills.

His credibility is shot on this one, and if he's rushing back to the airwaves strictly to preserve his rep then he may even further screw up his career and life if the addiction and its side-effects are not 100% kicked.

Why would any sane conservative want to play him as the hero, or worse yet, "victim" on this one? Stick with Hannity and O'Reilly; they're far more articulate and fair in their views compared to Rush, and haven't been busted yet for an arsenal of falsified perscriptions and nominal street drugs yet.

It's 100% true.

BTW last Friday night a lovely young co-worker and I went out. We went to a bar that had Kereoke(I know I misspelled it). Anyway she got up to sing The Pretenders version of "Forever Young". But she kept singing "5-ever young" it was hilarious!

Jet Set - I have to disagree slightly; I don't think Hannity is very bright or articulate. He gets his daily talking points and sticks with them and to me, isn't very quick on his feet. I've seen him get stumped or thrown off of his game many a time. I am turned off by most of Foxnews' "personalities" although I do think Brit Hume is pretty good - but's a reporter, mostly.

I didn't realize Rush had that many pills. That is CERTAINLY grounds for an "intent to distribute" charge. I suppose one could argue that with his wealth, the payments for that amount may not be proof that he intended to distribute and profit from them, but that amount almost certainly has to be well over the "personal" threshhold.

I mean, let's face it - the guy is a criminal...regardless of what happens.

Oh - mine is true too. That makes it even funnier. "5ever young" would sound pretty funny, especially during the last chorus when Rod really hams it up!

My buddy calls Jessica Simpson "Tailgators" and one time my mom asked my brother how he did on a test and he said "I got a 99" and she said, "a 49?!?!?" and he said, "Easy mom, I'm not Tailgators, Christ."

Good stuff bu we BOTH use this site wayyy too much, I think.....
