Nice call tough guy, and I probably would have called a pass play when Hackett called a draw on 3rd and 17. This is some funny stuff coming from a man who was FIRED by the Clintons. The general was a micromanaging officer who had little trust for his subordinates and made command decisions based upon its impact to his career. Thanks to him I got to spend my Christmas of 99 in Kosovo enforcing his and Clinton's latest babysitting adventure. Yeah that's what I signed up for so I dealt with it like everyone else. But you want to talk about a place we never should have been, that's it. Apparently this guy knows everything. Clark put your money where your mouth is, go back in uniform as a light fighter and go smoke out OBL yourself.

I don't know.....maybe it's just me but Gen Clark seems { for lack of a better word } a little kooky.

I think it's odd to state if he'd been in charge he'd have captured Osama, I can understand him saying he would have made it more of a priority and devoted more resources to the effort and POSSIBLY captured him but to say point blank that he'd have been captured defies reason.

The General won't even allow for the possibility that Pres Bush and more importantly the members of the military who have been assigned the task of finding Osama are quite able and are going about the task appropriately but Osama happens to be in an area that is perfect for hiding out and is surrounded by loyalists who are doing a good job of shielding him from us and under those circumstances it could take many years if ever before a mistake is made somewhere and we can catch him.

To give the impression that HE alone has the answer while all these other fully qualified and dedicated people are lacking the necessary skills / wits to get the job done correctly seems pompous / arrogant and yes.....kooky.

ya know what, in some sense the General is right.

maybe not in the sense that Osama would DEFINATELY be found but lets look at it -

there are 140,000 troops in Iraq there are maybe 10k in Afghanistan.

it doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize that Iraq has been a much larger priority for the President.

You can't find the guy without dedicating resourses toward it -

and lets be honest Saddam may have supported PLO but he wasn't a supporter of Al_Queda and in no way did he pose any real imminent threat to the nation.

My cousin's been in the military for 15 years, fought in Dessert Storm and was part of the Kosovo unit.

When the issue of Gen. Clark comes up his reaction is the same; war's are easy to fight at 30,000 feet!

CBNY what in the hell are you talking about? no offense to your cousin but if he thinks Wesley Clark is a paper tiger he is DEAD WRONG.

Wesley Clark was in Nam taking bullets ON THE GROUND where he won a Bronze Star and a Silver Star.

The comparison was made to the General Scharzkopf and Colin Powell had to fight Desert Storm on the ground as opposed to Kosovo when not to many boots hit the dirt.
