Just finished watching the Mets Preseason Baseball game from today Vs the Dodgers...i had it on my Tivo.
Jose Reyer is a player....the kid is going to be something special....Speed,Glove,Arm,Quick Wrists. Don't trade this kid....These are the Diamonds in the rough you build franchises around. Soriano can't hit anything with a break on it...and he is a disaster waiting to happen at 2B....reyes is as money as money gets. |

Close to 80 HRs, and 80 SBs, 250 runs scored, a .300 AVG., 190 RBIs, 80 doubles, the past 2 seasons. Yeah, he stinks.

The real problem is that he doesnt want to play RF, or play for the Mets. Whats so hard for people to get about those 2 things? Adding Soriano would not put this team over the top this year, so Id rather keep Reyes and Kazmir and Peterson and Wright and Huber and build for 2 or 3 years down the road. |

Yeah sure Soriano puts up nice regular season numbers, but you ommitted the fact that he is a Strikeout machine, I swear he cant tell the difference between a strike and ball.
Plus his D is a liability. (Also 28 yrs old) Reyes is a stud, this year he's going to prove it. The Mets aren't dumb enough to trade away the best prospect they've had in years for Soriano. |

Check out Soriano's OBP...lifetime 320, and last year hit 338. For a lead-off hitter and for most superstars, that is terrible. Pitchers are finally starting to learn he has no patience, so he will swing at anything. He will put up great numbers in Texas, but in Shea...he'll just be another hitter lost in the Field of Queens.
