Grand Rapids- The effort to foil a terrorist plot is something communities across the state may soon learn more about.

The Michigan State Police are distributing a video called "The Seven Signs of Terrorism."

The tape was originally sent out to police and then to students.

But the response by community groups that have seen the tape has been so good, authorities are trying to free up some homeland security money to distribute it to even more people.

The video includes information about terrorists conducting surveillance, acquiring supplies, and going through trial runs of an attack.

It's based on information used internationally.

"The Air Force intelligence unit has observed these signs that have led up to terrorist attacts such as the one in Saudi Arabia that was against out Air Force personnel at Khobar Towers," says Sergeant Kevin Mark of the MSP.

Mark says they want to send a copy of the video to all first responders in the state, including police, fire and EMS personnel.

yeah it didn't make the cut but the 8th sign of terrorism is when a guy wears a tablecloth as a hat and shrieks "A- LALALALALALALALALALA!" all the time

Any group of Middle Eastern-looking young males who pay cash for one-way airline tickets, carry light luggage and say they are "students" should probably be investigated. Just sayin....

Wouldn't it be better if the Michigan State Police taught us 'little' city types the 7 Signs of Terrorism first???

On a lighter note, we FINALLY received our Level C Hazmat/Chemical suits w/ gas masks to store in every patrol car.

They should last long enough to get another 7-8 hours of work out of us before we buy the farm.
