I think the Blazers are just trying to totally rework the team and in a draft where it seems everyone from 3-20 is of near equal value this is a great time to do it. Get rid of some bad contracts and if they got Butler, who didnt seem to fit with Bryant, thats a nice young hard working player to go on the team. Id say its a good trade for both teams if it goes through.

I need to see what the Lakers are giving up. Giving up on Patterson's contract is not a great deal for the Blazer's to drop down 7 slots in the lottery, since they will lose out on a few solid guys.
Maybe the Blazers wants that Ellis guy, a HS kid, who is a sharpshooter. Pair him with Telfair. Gives them the youngest backcourt in league history. |

I was scouting the 'net this morning, and I read a bit that this deal is off.
Which means it'll probably happen.

nevermind this, the blazers traded the #3 to the jazz for the #6 and #27 and the Pistons 2006 first rounder that they aquired for carlos arroyo.
