    Stupid QB Trade/Sign Threads (MERGED)

  2. #2
Hey I suggested that earlier. Before this year it was said he was actually in great shape and wanted to play. The guy has a good arm and did well when he was in Minny. I know.....terrible character wise but at this point we need physical skills as much as good character.

    Exclamation Quincy Carter on standby

Call him, he gives us a better chance to win than Brooks, imo. This is a band-aid remedy, not long term.

I still say we take Chris Leak in the draft, if avail.

Why would the Jets ever trust a guy that bailed out on them during the playoffs - I would gues that this guy is almost as untouchable as Ryan Leaf and Jeff George are.

No GM will give this guy another shot, in my opinion

Trade next yrs #1 for a QB (Kitna/ Rivers)

I think Pennington is done. I really can't see him ever leading us to an SB. As said in soo many different threads, our D is only gonna be good for so long and drafting and developing a QB seems to take alot longer than it would for a an RB.

If we could make a trade, while staying under the cap would u guys agree w/

next yrs 1st round pick Philip Rivers or Jon Kitna.

I don't think SD would do that trade straight up, but I do think Cinn would bc Palmer looks like the next big time QB.
Remember Kitna was nearly the MVP of the league a couple yrs ago.

Rivers cannot be done due to Cap Space issues. Rivers CANNOT be a Jet.

As for Kitna, it's an opinion, but I think he's a has-been at this stage and I wouldn't be interested, but that is just me.

like fish said, rivers is not feasible, and if bradaway were to trade a number one pick for john kitna i would hunt him down and kill him...keep the pick, worst case scenario its a high pick and we get the commander in chief...

    No, they don't.

I also like that we are trading number one picks for re-tread backups like Kitna.

The armchair GM's are out in force today.

I'd take Testaverde over Carter in a NY minute.

    It's not even close.

And, what if we get a top ten pick? The Jets would commiting suicide under the cap system.

I think we're worrying too much and prematurely. I have a feeling Pennington is going to prove a lot of doubters wrong.
