Now the Yankees must pounce on either Rowand or Jason Michaels from the Phillies. Give them Pavano and give us our CFer!

    Why would they want that?

Why would the Phillies want Pavano? Because they are in need for starting pitching and Pavano is still regarded as a good starter even though he was "hurt" last year.

Moreso, because the Phillies have to get rid of either Michaels, Burrell, or Abreu and Michaels is the one that is most likely to go.

I don't think he's all that great, he'll give up a ton of gophers in that park. If they do take him on, the Yankees will have to give up a boatload of cash.

I am also not a fan of him but he still has some value I think. His G/F ratio is pretty good at 1.60 last season. Throw in $12 million and Pavano at $6 million per is a pretty good deal I think.
