"First thing you'll find out about me is I'm honest. I'm going to be at my locker after the game ready to talk to you guys when I strikeout with a man on third and no outs. But I'm also going to be at my locker when I hit the game winning homerun."

"I'm going to strike out with a man on third and less than two outs. (Reporters all laughing). But when I do I will stand in front of my locker and say I tried to drive him in. When I hit the homerun to win the game, I will stand in front of my locker too."
"I like David Wright's approach. I wish I could do that. He can stay inside the ball"
"I think Jose Reyes is amazing"

2. When I had the opp with the Mets last year, I made a decision based strictly based on at the time the Marlins having a better chance to win. Strictly business.
3. When you negotiate with NY, chances are you might disagree. (went on to compare disagreeing with Tony B and Omar like disagreeing with your Mom & Dad)”
"Mets have a policy for standing for God Bless America and I will stand. I will not be a distraction to the team"
when he didn't sign with the mets last year i knew what his reasoning was. but the mets are an up and coming team now, with a nice mix of young talent and veteran leadership. i still think we need a nice young starting pitcher like burnett.
