    Nightmare to Dream Come True

As visions of Woody handing the SB trophy to Herm in Detroit vanish in my head...

Seeing Chad Pennington named Super Bowl MVP based upon a 18/22 - 365 yard - 3 TD performance...up in smoke.

Victory Parade in Lower Manhattan, vaporized...

My thoughts turn to the 2006 New York Mets.

A powerhouse is being assembled in Flushing, my friends.

Delgado, Beltran (look for a big bounce back), Wright, Reyes, Pedro, LoDuca, Wagner, Floyd and perhaps Manny..C'mon.

The White Sox proved you can come from nowhere to win the WS.

Maybe that Victory Parade isn't that far off.

    Lets Go Mets !!

I know nothing about baseball, but I kinda' always liked the Mets... I guess cause' it sounds like Jets.

Can anyone tell me about that guy Wagner. Thats my last name and I would consider buying his jersey if he is good. Is he big enough for them to make a jersey?

Oh yeah, just traded to the Mets from Philly. A shutdown closer that Billy Wagner!

Either way it will be a real fun team to watch...

Dec 8 - The Mets moved closer Wednesday to trading starter Kris Benson to Texas after talks broke down with Kansas City, Newsday reports.
According to the newspaper, the Mets would send Benson to the Rangers for outfielder Laynce Nix and righthander Juan Dominguez.

The Mets reportedly would like to clear Benson's salary (he's owed $15 million over the next two seasons) to make a run at Oakland's Barry Zito or Arizona's Javier Vazquez, who has requested a trade.

    Bletran
    Delgado
    Wright
    Floyd
    Laduca
    Nix

Or if they get Manny and Mark Grudzielanek

    Floyd
    Laduca
    Mark Grudzielanek or Kaz Matsui

Nice. But Omar (therefore Willie Randolph) sees LoDuca hitting in the 2 hole:

    Reyes
    LoDuca
    Beltran
    Delgado
    Floyd
    Wright
    Nix
    Grudzelanek
    Pitcher

    I'll take it!

I think Floyd's more experienced bat gives more protection to Delgado.

Now if Floyd falters, then yeah move DW up.

Also, how weird is it for a catcher to bat 2nd?

The Mets are second class citizens and they have their own stadium. They could win three straight World Series and no one in New York would care.

Yankees. How can you compete with that?

this is a stupid post. just beause you wouldn't care doesn't mean squat. if the mets won even 1 WS it would be a big deal.

Tha's because the Yankees have been more successful than the Mets ('77 - Present). NY has always been considered a National League town cause more people hated the Yankees (Dodger and Giants fans) then liked the,.

You don't think anyone in NY noticed 1986?

The Mets were the first NY team to break 3M in attendance. Not the Yanks. In 1985 (I think '85), Up until 1996, the Mets and Yanks were basically even in attendance from 1962 on. The Yanks will always have a national appeal/hatred, but in the 80's in NY, they were 2nd class to the Mets, hands down. It will take alot for the Mets to catch the Yanks in NY popularity, based on what the Yanks have done over the last 10 years, but a couple of WS in Flushing and this will change.

New York hasnt always been a Yankee town, yes they have been a Yankee town for awhile now and more time overall, but what about the 80s?

Dissing the Mets by calling them second class is real smart, when your also a Jet fan.
