    ...posted by Matthew Cerrone...

In a feature titled Best Tools: National League, Baseball America acknowledges Jose Reyes as being the best baserunner, the fastest baserunner, having the best infield arm and for being the most exciting player, also noting that he is the second best bunter and the second best defensive shortstop

Baseball America also acknowledges Billy Wagner as having the league’s best fastball, while Pedro Martinez

So...should we even bother playing the World Series this year, or just stop now and give the Mets the trophy? I mean, come on guys, we can't compete with a team who has the most exiting player in baseball, the closer with the best fastball, and a pitcher with the second best change up and third best control on at their disposal.

Jose Reyes has a great personality which is contagious for players and fans alike. You just have to love this guy and the enthusiasm he brings to the team. And we've tied him up for several years.

not only that but for cheap... and still both sides are happy.

I remember all the Yankees fans saying "you think our payroll is bad??? Wait till you have to sign reyes and wright to 12 million dollar a year salaries!!!" Well that didnt even come close to happening thx to Minaya and co.

The disparity between overall teams in the AL and NL is bigger this year, but Wagner would still probably be one of the top closers even if he was in the AL. If you're one of the best closers, it shouldn't matter what league you play in, since you're only trying to get 6 outs or less.

Well, he does have the best fastball, considering that is his only pitch. he also probably won the award for worst slider in the NL.

BTW, Jermaine, who did they say was the best defenseive shorstop in the NL?

I love Jose but to call him the 2nd best bunter is laughable. Considering his speed, he should be a much better bunter than he is.

Im fine with the fact that he's not --Ill take the pop in his bat any day-- but lets call a spade a spade.
