    Mangini's Tenure

Ok...not to be a pessimist..but I was wondering...how long do you guys think Johnson will give Mangini to prove that he's the man?
I mean he really is an unknown. So far I like his style...but that's all it counts for so far.

I say until the end of next season...
    Thoughts?

The guy's not even done with his first training camp yet and you want people to speculate on his firing date?

    Dump.

As a jets fan...you always wonder what the drama is going to be with the
    head coach...I mean C'mon....

Kotite, Belicheck's 1 day Tenure, Herm jumping ship...
    So I'm a pessimist..

Mangini hasn't completed his first camp. How long he stays will be based up his leadership skills. If the team tanks and he loses them he could pull a Lou Holtz. If the team tanks and they play for him through the season he will at least get two seasons.

With this team a 500 season will be a tremendous accomplishment. Realistically 4-12 is what this team is capable of.

Mangini is unknown?? Did you think Hermie was the first name on anyone's lips after Groh left?? And the BBQ man was here 5 years!

we have not fired a coach since Kotite in 1996.

I think Mangini is safe for a few more months.

I'm an old man. I want to win now. That's why I'm bringing Rich Kotite back to the family and making him our next head coach.

So Leon, in hell, do you eventually get use to the heat? Or does the pain exist the same as first experienced in perpetuity?

Did you know we drafted Kotite in the 1965 Draft 4 picks after George Sauer in the Red shirt Draft!

Barring a horrid obvious abject failure (i.e. 1-16 this year, 0-8 to start next year with no sign of improvement) I think Mangini needs to be in the playoffs within three seasons or he will face termination.

Playoff berth by 2008 or else, if I had to guess.
