I'm not sure that it is really that bad of a break. I mean after all, what has Pedro done for us this season? He definately helped us early in the year, but since then he has been a 500 pitcher...

    Am I missing something here?

Mets went 28-14 with Pedro on the DL.

Still got the bats, the pen, and a serviceable rotation.

A huge heart and cornerstone of your team..He may not have pitch great lately ,but a healthy Pedro is better than no Pedro..

Well they are pretty good numbers! There is no doubt that we can win without Pedro. I am sorry to see him injured, but it's not the end of the season! I admire Pedro for realizing that he is not up to snuff.

Hey don't get all offensive , I was just stating Omar signed Pedro for one reason and that's to lead this rotation through the postseason.Even though he hasn't looked good lately , you still want the services from a guy like Pedro.

No you don't, not if he isn't healthy, which he isn't.

i think the word you meant was defensive, but i'm not at all.

Omar wants the services from a guy like Pedro? Sure, from a healthy Pedro. But they've known Pedro wasn't healthy for months now. Again, whats your point?

They've been weighing an injured Pedro vs. no Pedro for awhile now. Those are the only options.

My point was ,even though he hasn't looked great lately, you still will like to go into the postseason with Pedro available. That's it....I was quoting another poster comment saying he hasn't been pitching great.

No doubt, What team wouldn't want a hall of fame pitcher in the post season.......But the reality is that Pedro is hurt, and the reality is also that Pedro really didn't make a difference in the Mets making the post season. Guys like Wright, Beltran and Delgado made the difference.

Then we have guys like Maine and Trachsel that can fill in most admirably.

That being said, The World Series is going to be a problem...
