I wouldn't fire Torre for Piniella. I think I would bring Joe back. But if management decides to make a change, Girardi would be my choice.

Joe can't bat for these guys, all the blame doesn't belong on his shoulders.

The Yankees problem isnt Torre its a line up of old overpaid players. Cano is the only young talent the team has. Melky Cabrera did an outstanding Job and was sent to the bench. Trading away young talent for old aging has beens is not going to win championships. The Yankees were a great team in the 90s because Steinbrenner got banned so the yankees bought up young talent from triple A instead of trading it away. What the Yankees need to do is unload Arod, Matsui, Sheffield, Leave some old veterans like Damon for leadership purposes and start bringing up some of the triple a talent they have Put Cabrera back in LF and trade the players I mention to bring in some pitching to hold the fort until players like Phillip Hughes can come up. The Yankees need to get younger until they do that expect more garbage like what happen in the Alcs.

Plays the hand that is dealt? His hand costs over $200 million! Torre cannot be exempt from criticism on this one.

ok so are you saying that his players are worth the money they are getting paid??? Just because its a big payroll it doesn't mean the team will be good - he can only prepare so much - then its up to the players to perform - Sheffield had two horrible errors today.. Giambi was 1 for 11, Arod 1 for 11 - I say let the players get paid with incehntives and then we will see how they perform...

Joe never stopped being clueless. We need to get rid of him but this was not his fault.

I like Joe, he's a classy dude and knows his baseball. How can you go wrong filling out that lineup? "Murderers Row + Cano" got shut down, he didn't.

I agree. I believe Joe Torre should stay. The "boss" may feel differently though. If he does get canned, the Yanks should pickup Girardi over Pinella.
