    Randy Johnson Traded to Diamondbacks

In exchange for veteran reliever Luis Vizcaino, minor league pitchers Ross Ohlendorf and Steven Jackson, and minor league shortstop Alberto Gonzalez.

The two pitching prospects are big. Ohlendorf is 6'4", 235 and Jackson is 6'5" 215. Gonzalez is known for his slick fielding.

    Reported finalized on WFAN

Good riddance. Ohlendorf is the only decent player of the bunch, but who cares. Unit is gone.

I heard that Roger's agent told the Yanks that he would sign as long as they agree to play their home games in Houston.

mistake for yankees IMO, as disappointing as Johnson was he still was an average 200 inning pitcher capable of pitching well on occassion

Freed up 20 million (30 million including luxury tax) to spend elsewhere. There are a lot of guys who can win 10-15 games with a 5 era for a lot less money. May be able to spend some of that dough on a pitcher who still has his best stuff.
