OT: Biggest Yankee Busts in the post-dynasty era (2001-now)

there have been a few major busts for the Yanks since we last won in 2000. i figured id see who everyone here thought was the bronx's biggest blunder?

i say carl pavano since hes played all of 3 months in 2 years.

Randy Johnson, no doubt about it. This guy was a big peice of crap. He gave up hr left and right, and had an era over 5. i cant believe the yankees actually traded him and he got signed up to an extension

The answer we were looking for was "Kevin Brown."

    Thanks for playing.

How many signings actually worked well?

Sheffield, Matsui, ARod is 60/40 since signing.

Most signings were ****. I'd like to have Lily back. Weaver developed in Chitown but couldn't play here.

All time worst must be Pavano - the guy pitchewd in like 6 games in 3 years.

Hope you guys don't mind input from a Mets fan.

If you factor in money, I would say A Rod is the biggest bust. He puts up great numbers during the season, but then performs terribly when it counts most. Just my opinion.

How could a guy that the Yankees pay $16M a year for, that has won an MVP and been an extremely productive player, be the biggest bust on the Yankees? Honest question.

And also, Gary Sheffield has been sh*t in the playoffs as a Yankee and did less in his 3 years than A-Rod did in his thus far, so wouldn't he be a bigger bust? Another honest question as I'm really interested in your response to this one. Or did you just forget that Sheff has sucked in the playoffs as a Yankee...

A-Rod has obviously been a dissapointment in the postseason, but you have to take everything into account.

Up to this point, Carl Pavano has been lightyears more of a bust than any other Yankee, excpet maybe Kevin Brown. I give KB some credit for actually pitching through pain, which Mrs. Pavano refuses to do.

Yeah, winning an MVP really does that...

    Carl Pavano. Period.

He can erase all this with not only healthy but, also a stellar 2007 campaign that helps brings the Yankees #27.

If you are going expectation verse reality, I feel Jeff Weaver was the biggest bust in the post-championship era.
