Having joined a few counterprotests during my time in DC, I would also like to point out that many attending these "protests" do not have any understanding of the issues. They are there for the event, and to cause trouble. Many have an anarchist bent and are there for the mayhem that may ensue. I am not talking about all involved, but there is a large segment of such individuals at these events.
right on.....they have no tolerance for anything other than what they've been programmed to believe....

I was at a counter-protest almost a year ago when the leftist were protesting the Iraq war...and as usual it turned into nothing more than an anti-American b!tch session...they got silent when I kept asking why they didn't protest when clinton illegally bombed Bosnia (something I thought he was right in doing)....

One woman on the podium claimed she supported the troops but US troops in Iraq were guilty of many of the same crimes the Nazi's were found guilty of in Nuremburg....when she was pressed to name one she pulled a Jackie Gleason...

btw: are you a PW???

Two of my favorite protesters...they haven't skipped a beat and they haven't learned a damn thing. If you protest a war, you protest the soldiers that are fighting it. And if you don't understand that logic, you're either in political office or you never spent a day in combat.

The trouble isn't 'protesting' or probably the majority of protesters who get involved in these sort of things..... It's the same idiots who try to start riots at the G8 meetings, or whenever the worldbank meets and so on and so on.

They're professional protesters, and they're simply there to cause trouble.

Others legitimately go with good intentions and feel like they're doing the right thing. Others come with ski masks in their backpacks and are waiting for the first opportunity to stab a police horse or throw a brick at a cop.

Those are the morons that give all legitimate protesters a bad name.

the professional protestors, ANSWER, UPJ, (both anti-American organizations with Answer having it's roots in communism) are the groups who put on these protests, getting the permits, etc...

most of those nice people with the bandanna's over their face are anarchists...
How about reading the small print on the signs the kooks proudly display for a change-these weirdos are sponsored by (nominally):

International ANSWER, Spartacist, UFPC, American Friends Service Committee, Black Radical Congress, Center for Constitutional Rights, CODEPINK, Friends of the Earth, Global Exchange, Gold Star Families for Peace, Green Party of the United States, Greenpeace, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, National Organization for Women, National Youth and Student Peace Coalition, Not in Our Name, PAX Christi USA, RainbowPUSH Coalition, September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, TrueMajority, US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, US Labor Against the War, Veterans for Peace, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and War Resisters League.

Just to name a few of the flakes, fruits and nuts in this stale granola.
Not a pro-American patriot in the whole rotten bunch.

Uh, and they most certainly are fringe. Professional protestors, many pining for the days of Vietnam when campuses and public squares were actually
filled with protestors
Yep, heaven forbid if you go against the status quo and not tow the line of supporting war...
Those radical people...we should just NOOK EM!

uh, no one said to nuke protestors.
Just not to take America-hating kooks seriously.

When our campus students and not their ancient
hippie teachers swell the ranks of these "spontaneous"
rallies, and begin to approach the Viet Nam era
crowds I might begin to care a little.
Just another way for little commies to hook up, is all

Clue us all in how US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation,
Spartacist League etc speak truth to power.

Youve got your Socialist paradise protected by your
Capitalist neighbor for free, what more do you want

it's a shame Bush can't get a third term maybe he could have gotten a constitiutional ammendment through to ban all forms of anti-government protest

cause ya know, that's really all this country is founded upon is supporting the establishment and keeping ones opinions to one's self

Jefferson and Franklin would be so proud of the right wing.

Absolutely. Standing up and voicing your disagreement with the administration and their policies is unpatriotic and unAmerican. What do you think this is, a democracy???

when you can post of story of a reporter reprimanded for answering a direct question posed to him and prefacing it by saying it was his personnel opinion then you have a point...

otherwise, as just about everything else you've posted here in your brief stint, it is speculative garbage...

I didn't figure anything out yesterday. I knew that it was impossible to reason with you way before that.
