Aside from possibly contributing to Global Warming, health risks are also a major reason to change our energy policy and current network of power plants, industrial factories, and automobiles.

Start making a change in the right direction. Move out of the mindset of 19th and 20th century technology, and start implementing the new technology that already exists. Tax oil heavily and give corporations incentives to upgrade their facilities and products.

EDIT: and in terms of the health issue, take the handcuffs off stem cell research! Let the scientists and doctors do their jobs without political limitations.
