Abreu is never going to be an MVP Canidate. And Delgado and Giambi were only MVP Canidates 3-6 Years ago when they put up seasons with a .300 or above Batting Average on top of their Slugging, but in recent years they're not winning any MVP's as they're lucky to hit .270 in a season at this point in their careers.

The Mets have 3 MVP Canidates in Wright, Reyes, Beltran and the Yankees have 2 Canidates in Jeter and A-Rod. Just my opinion.

Regardless, it is way too early to be talking about the MVP race. lol

Key word is 'former.' Giambi NOW is a waste of 18 million a year.

    Waste?

The dude is a highly productive player. He gets on base at an insanely high clip and jacks 30-40 HR's a year.

That fat, steroid using land monster is not worth 18 million a year. For that money you better be a good all-round player. That fat bastard couldn't play in the National League.

Maybe some of you who like to posture and say the DH is good thing might not think so, but Giambi might not be in the League right now if he couldn't DH. It's much harder to play the field well, and then put up numbers than sit on your ass and hit every 2.33 innings.

Giambi is like Barbaro....you can carry him for a little while until things start to look hopeless at which time you put him down.

Giambi would be in the league the same way Ryan Howard would be in the league. Howard can't field as well but some guys bats are too good to take out of the lineup because of poor defense. I hate the DH but since it is in the rules we can't penalize guys like Edgar Martinez, David Ortiz or Travis Hafner for their accomplishments.
