March #'s: Olbermann, Zahn Trend Down
Nancy Grace came in second place at 8pm in March, beating Zahn and Olbermann...

Take a look at this chart of Keith Olbermann and Paula Zahn's demo performance from March 2006 to March 2007. After a few tough summer months, Countdown took the lead in October, and hasn't looked back since. But both shows have trended down in the past several months.

Zahn averaged 164,000 demo viewers in March, down from a high of 231,000 in November. And Olbermann averaged 200,000 demo viewers in March, down from 253,000 just two months ago in January...

    --------------------

Loserman is losing his audience...he is now barely tredding water and battling Zahn as well as the media mogul Nancy Grace for last place of the 8PM slots..

makes sense...take off during ratings sweep month:

good strategy- this way you have something to fall back on when you get your ass kicked in the ratings...

The long term trend is up as I posted a few weeks back. There will always be short term blips.

By the way the debates from both parties will be on MSNBC and not FOX during the May sweeps

Like I said- justification for being at the bottom of the ratings...

Is KO trying to get out of political talk shows because of a lack of ratings? Looks like he is trying to jump back into broadcast sports- trying to avoid going head to head with O'Reilly, perhaps?

Olbermann will join NFL pregame show on NBC
    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

    April 16, 2007, 1:49 PM EDT

Keith Olbermann will return to sports for the first time in six years to join Cris Collinsworth as co-host of the pregame show for NBC's Sunday night NFL telecasts.

Olbermann, who currently hosts a prime-time newscast and opinion show called "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" on MSNBC, will join with host Bob Costas and analysts Jerome Bettis, Tiki Barber and Peter King on NBC's "Football Night in America."

An anchor for ESPN's SportsCenter from 1992-97, Olbermann last appeared on network television in 2001 as host of postseason baseball coverage for FOX.

His job on the NBC show will be to narrate highlights and discuss NFL news and issues.

Let me get this straight... Bob Costas, Tiki Barber, Peter King, AND Keith Olbermann??

If there was ever a reason to NOT watch NBC's football coverage, that's it right there. Yeesh.

Olberman was never better than when he was doing Sportcenter with Dan Patrick. Shame, some folks don't just stick with what they are absolutely great at (see Tony Kornheiser and actually WRITING instead of yapping for another example).

Well, apparently Olbermann was a huge prick at ESPN -- he constantly memo'd his superiors with complaints and terse suggestions and he alienated his fellow colleagues. To this day he has made up with Dan Patrick but is still completely banned from the ESPN campus in Connecticut.
