130 degrees in Bagdad in August

    Jul 13, 4:51 PM EDT

    US eyes Iraqi parliamentary schedule

    By DEB RIECHMANN
    Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The White House on Friday appeared resigned to the fact that the Iraqi parliament is going to take August off, even though it has just eight weeks to show progress on military, political and economic benchmarks prescribed by the United States.

"My understanding is at this juncture they're going to take August off, but, you know, they may change their minds," White House press secretary Tony Snow said.

"You know, it's 130 degrees in Baghdad in August," he said, sympathetically.

Snow was reminded that U.S. troops will be continuing to fight throughout August in the heat.

"You know, that's a good point," Snow said. "And it's 130 degrees for the Iraqi military."

What the hell is wrong with these people?

Well, you know its 130 degrees in Bagdad in August.

    Ya,so what.

Well, thats too damn hot to hold any kind of meetings to make progress with creating an Iraqi government.

OH, I see, yes now I get it.

Its too damn hot to sit in a ****suck*** meeting, but its not too hot for our military to be patrolling their ****hole streets.

Just being in that heat can be unbearable.

Sometimes the troops can only get half of the water they require daily.

Thank you CBTNY and all of you warmongers. The Iraqi gov't can take the month off with our republican adminstrations approval of it.

When are you or your kids going over there again?

I agree. The problem is there is no good explanation. People are dying every day.

Again, people are dying every day.

People are losing body parts every day.

This combined with Maliki saying, you can go home we really don't need you, is so over the top it has become surreal.

Boy you reading comprehension skills are terrible. When did it say the "Republican Administration" gave approval for this? When did it say the Iraqis "asked permission" of the US Government to take the time off? BDS strikes again. Spamming the board again with hatred of all things related (or unrelated!) to GWB.
Is it ridiculous for the Iraqis to take off August, yes. Is it "Bush's fault"? No, sorry Dawgg.

well, it was Dubya who believed in the ability of these cave dwellers to operate a democracy, was it not?

in the end, this whole ordeal is in fact Bush's fault. it will be his legacy.
