I heard Freddy Adu got signed by a Portuguese team...?

Any truth to this? I heard it in passing and didn't get the whole story.

This is good not only for Adu to develop but for the U.S. MNT as well. Get him some experience playing on the European side and help his abilities grow even more. He's still young. If he can improve his skills in Europe and with the way the U20 team played, we're going to have a competitive MNT in the next 4-8 years.

That's good, hopefully more players from here will sign. I would like to see Dempsey go over seas for a few years and get some more experience.

Sal Zizzo also left UCLA to play for Hannover 96 in the German Bundesliga. Thinks are looking very promising for our next cycle of USMNT players. I have a great feeling Benny Feilhaber is going to tear it up at Hamburg next year also in Germany. That is if he gets his share of first team minutes.

Dempsey signed with Fulham late in season last year, right before Chris Coleman was axed as skipper.

Danny Szetla of the U.S. u-20 team also signed w/ AS Roma last week....He'll most likely be playing primivera football until he's ready for 1st team minutes.

I pulled up his profile on Fulham FC, he had 10 apps and 1 goal last year. I never watch EPL so I completely missed him. I wish he would have signed with the Celtic

Funny enough, Celtic has been trying to sign Dempsey's former teammate, Sharli Joseph since the January transfer period. He's probably the best 2-way midfielder in the MLS, but the league refuses to let him out of his contract.
