    It's much harder when you are close to the Super Bowl than just a debacle in the opening game of a season of marginal expectations (05, 07). Clearly this year we are not as good as 3 teams in the AFC and we played 1 of them yesterday, so losing that one was not unexpected.

    Gastineau's penalty was much harder to digest. We had the better team and the talent to get to the game. It was December, not September. It was the last game of a year of high expectations, not the first game of a year of question marks. And, knowing the player and what he was known for and as hated as he was among team mates and other players, not entirely unexpected.

    it's not even close to being the worst day to be a Jets fan... but it's one of the worst days ever to visist JI.

    seriously, stop acting like whiny little girls and accept that we lost to a far better team. the Patriots are as good as advertised, end of story.

    man-up or STFU.

    OK, which days are worse than;

    Fans being called out in the media as classless
    getting blown out at home by hated rivals in the opener
    news comes out hated rivals cheated
    starting QB, the only player to showup, may have serious injury
    star players look like chumps
    coaches out coached, players outplayed

    serioulsy, which days were worse ?

    after '98 afc champ game, I had hope for the following season

    where is the hope now ? maybe the ravens won't cheat ?

    87 Double OT Playoff game loss at Cleveland was way worse. That game broke my heart. I was sick for weeks and the Giants winning the SB that year made it worse. We would have beaten Denver w/o a doubt. And im sure we would have beaten the Gints in Pasadena.

    This is just an opening day loss. There are too many other heartbreaks that this loss never could compare with
