Idea to get the Jets back on a winning track!

im very supersticious regarding the Jets, so i have an idea to get us back winning.

    here it is.

in late December of 2004, i joined Jets Insider. two days later we got killed by the Patriots. the next week the Rams edged us in OT. the next week we beat San Diego in Over Time. the week after we had the crushing Pittsburgh loss. the next year we went 4-12. the year after that we went 10-7.

so basically as time went on, we kept improving (1-3 to 4-12 to 10-6.) fast forward to the Wednesday after the Chowds defeated us in the playoffs. Jetfan16 gets banned for life. since then, the Jets lost to the chowds, and then to the Ravens, and are at 0-2 in the regular season. thats a .000 winning percentage. we're now on pace to NEVER win another regular season game.

    check out this interesting graphic.

Jets record with Jetfan16 a member of Jets Insider: 15-22.
    .405 win%

Jets record since Jetfan16 was banned: 0-2

    .000 win%

stats dont lie. even though with Jetfan16 the Jets are hardly even mediocore, the stats overwhelmingly indicate that without him on JI, they might as well not even show up. make the move JI. if nothing else, do it for your Jets!

Freestaterdoodles- there was no JI back when the Jets won the Super Bowl! all im saying mate is that since i was banned we havent won a regular season game, so we're on pace to never win one, this is a great idea to shake things up!

    Hey, I'm just stating facts...

Time period during which Jetfan16 was a member of JI: No Superbowls. facts is facts.

Few people remember that the 1998 Jets started out 0-2 and ended up 12-4.

Too bad this team isn't the 1998 New York Jets.

    Some noteables:

    Keyshawn
    Chrebet
    CMart
    Vinny

    Mawae
    Jumbo Elliot
    Jason Fabini

    Bryan Cox
    James Farrior
    Jason Ferguson
    Aaron Glen
    Mo Lewis
    Ray Mickens

The next season, Parcells would assemble one of the greatest NFL coaching staffs of all time:

    Bill Parcells - HC
    Bill Belichick - assistant coach
    Charlie Weis - offensive coordinator
Romeo Crennel - defensive line coach
    Eric Mangini - defensive asst
    Dan Henning - QB coach
Bill Muir - offensive line coach

But, Vinny tore his achilles on opening day -- so much for that.

In 2000, the Jets have a pretty damn good draft

    Shaun Ellis
    John Abraham
    Anthony Becht
    Laveranues Coles

Sooo, the current team has none of the players from 1998 (as you would expect). In fact, the only current players that were even on the 2002 Jets are

    Pennington
    Coles
    Chris Baker

Shaun Ellis was on the '02 Jets. the difference between 1998 and 2007 is first, in 1998, we had Vinny, and 2nd, in 2007 our highest paid free agent acquisition is a backup defensive end who, prior to this season, had never started a game in his life, I.E. our General Manager did a pathetic job of bringing in any talent this year.

Randy Moss and Adalius Thomas= Albert Wadsworth, Michael Haynes, David Bowens, and Kenyon Coleman

hmmmm, i cant imagine why we suck and the Patriots are yet again about to go 14-2....

One thing I don't understand?? In 97 before Mawae,Fabini and Kerry Jenkins as a rookie Murrell had 1086 yds 3.6 ypc and 7 Td's..You really think Cumar's 1287 3.5 ypc and 8 td's on 69 more carries made that big of difference?? I think it was 90% Vinny and his career year and the Great play of the Defense along with KJ and Wayne..

I don't think the sample size is nearly big enough to make a judgment yet. In order to get a good accurate comparison 16 must be banned and stay banned for at least 2 full seasons and THEN we can make an accurate comparison.

See you in two years, buddy.
