Does Matt Walsh deserve a book deal?

If Matt Walsh does have the tape of the Rams Superbowl practice then this becomes one of the biggest cheating scandals in American sports history. Possibly the biggest since the black Sox scandal almost 90 years ago.

In a land where everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame including Jurors from high profile criminal cases, millionaire heiresses with a penchant for making internet videos, Ex-presidents, ex-first ladies and ex-mistresses of ex-presidents. The American way is to tell all in the blockbuster book deal.

Even though Matt Walsh might notbbe the most savory of characters, should he have a chance to cash in on the story by writing a book and do we, the public have an interest in what this whistle-blower is selling?

Well you know TX, this is a new question.

You might be uncomfortable with the discussion it generates but this is a new question.

If Matt Walsh has the evidence we've been told he might have and he uses it to destroy Belichick, he should be hailed as an American Hero.

Why would I be "uncomfortable" with this?

Who would you suggest to write the preface of Walsh's book?

    Brian McNamee?

We the public have been treated to a Commissioner and a Patriots organization that just wants this thing to be buried and go away. We have seen a crudely executed cover up and now we see an orchestrated effort to smear and undermine the credibility of one little former employee of the Patriots who has a story to tell.

    For shame.

I for one think that Matt Walsh should be commended for standing up to a billion dollar franchise and a multi billion doller organization, both of whom who are intent on crushing his small little voice.

I think we need to protect the whistle-blowers and stop trying to suppress the real story here :)

This IS a Jets fan message board. No one is making you visit here, are they? Besides, it allows you to pile on with your post count.

Good question TX. Where do you stand on the whole Clemens Vs. McNamee thing? Is McNamee just a lying former employee who is disgruntled or is he a whistle-blowing truth teller, albeit a somewhat unsavory and reluctant one?

You think Walsh and McNamee have a lot in common then? Is that an admission that Walsh might actually have the goods?????

The dirty little secret here is that the civil court system can very quickly bankrupt the little guy unless he has the deep pockets that are required to make it work for him. The Patriots have billions to spend and Walsh has next to nothing. The Patriots have waved that club around as a not very well disguised threat for the last 2-3 weeks. The point is obvious. Keep quiet or we will ruin you.

Most intelligent people understand that suing someone into the poor house has very little to do with who is right and who is wrong on the merits. It is all about who can afford the most lawyers. The Patriots are in a position to threaten drive Matt walsh into bankruptcy. The threat is enough to keep him quiet even if he is 100% telling the truth about every single aspect of this case.

Blanket immunity from Arlen Specter is really the only option.

Kleck and his fellow JI posters will single-handedly make Walsh a wealthy person. :P

A specious argument and position. One does not relate to the other except in
your mind and others of your ilk who see things as they would like to, rather
    than reality.

Have some of you even looked into this guy Walsh?

His resume has him at 28 ( at that time) having spent 4 years on the golf team, 2 years in pro hockey, a couple of years training with the bob sled team, and 7 years with the Patriots, one year in arena league football, and one year in NFL Europe. That's what his resume reads.

I don't need to be a math major to tell you that doesn't add up. I wouldn't put my hopes and dreams into this guy yet. He sounds like a pathological liar.
