    **Official Champions League Thread**

Now that the action is underway, I thought it would be good to localize all the chat about the CL in one thread.

Great day for Roma and Liverpool, beating Madrid and Inter respectively. I hope Inter chokes big time in the Champions League.

    Chelsea drew even with Olympiakos.

    GREAT Matches tomorrow:

    Arsenal - Milan (Forza Milan!)

    Celtic - Barca

    Lyon - Man Utd

    Fenerbahce - Sevilla

Inter dominates Italy but cant beat a struggling Liverpool side? Their style of play must not fit the CL at all.

They were playing with 10 men for a lot of the game an Liverpool scored twice late and it was at Anfield but yeah thats pretty bad.

Since Rafe' took over, Pool always overperforms in champions league and underperforms domestically.

That goal by Stevie G. today was pure class.

Here's the highlights. I can't believe Gerrard split the defense like that with his goal. Kuyt had a nice finish on his shot too.

I agree playing one man down for an hour will hurt you but Inter had nothing last night, second half was almost all played in Inters half and if Liverpools forwards were a little more careful or lucky it would have been 4 or 5 to 0 easily.

There were a couple of sitters miised by Fernando Torres and one by Crouch while the match was 0-0 which were unbelivable...

And Paulie don't be so sure about the refs Liverpool had a sure penalty not given on ahandball by Viera

Adebayor had it in stoppage time...gay

For a nil-nil draw, that was a good match. I almost had a heart attack when Adebayor nearly won it in the 94th minute.

That's ok, Milan... knock Arsenal out at home.

No surprise. He used to do those all the time when he played at Monaco.

That was harder to miss than put in the back of the net.

Agreed. I guess what gets me is that so much of this year he has been far less wasteful. What a time to miss.

I almost don't want to watch the replay or I'll just get even more upset.

They played them off the park.

I don't know what he's worth yet. I trust Wenger knows his stuff.
I'm afraid he may be good enough to have hot streaks in Premiership, but not a clutch player capable of scoring game winning goals in CL. JMO.

im quite optimistic of us going to the san siro and getting a result.. a 1-0 Real Madrid 06 type of result would do nicely

Don't count on it. Milan is absolutely driven right now to go the whole way in the Champions League. 1-0? Doubt it.

It's going to be an exciting game. Inter has to attack.

Best scenario Inter scores early goal, then the dogfight begins.

His post came after Licurgo's, so I assumed he was talking about Inter/Liverpool.

    Whatever, awesome matchups everywhere.

from what ive heard you wont have Kaka for the game and we have a solid D, Walcott scoring 2 at the weekend might kick start something there and he is a hanfull with his pace especially for Maldini at LB

Kaka didn't play yesterday against Catania; I bet Ancelotti was resting him specifically for the Arsenal match. He'll be ready to go.
