Amzing first round for the Cowboys. seriously if they get DRC at # 22 it doesn't matter what they do with the other pick. Getting one of the better RT prospects there is a very good pick.

If Gholsten goes to the Patriots, the Jets should worry more about moving up for an offensive tackle than selecting a DT with that second pick.

If the mock fell that way I would rather select an OT with our first pick and take a RB at # 36. Jamaal Charles might even fall to us in round three.

Great mock as always Ham, well thought out and some interesting choices.

With that said, I would be very disappointed if the Jets chose Rashard Mendenhall at pick number six. I love your second round choice for us only if we improve our OLINE with a trade down. I might be tempted to reach a little at six in the same situation and choose Clady or Otah. After our OLINE play last season it could easily be justified if we reached a little there for one. I just think a RB is not agreat choice when we have glaring needs at the OLINE position and DL........

As far as some other interesting choices:

Why do you think Matt Ryan falls so much when other mocks have him as high as number one?

Why do you think Brohm goes ahead of Ryan?

McFadden has had some negative issues arise in the last few days on top of some physical criticisms. Why do you think he rises in the draft while others have him falling?

Thanks Ham, always love reading your posts

Ham, as much as I respect you as a poster.....Words like "with all due respect" come to mind....and you Sir get MUCH respect from me BUT...

This is the very first time your pick would cause me to turn off my Television. I can say that I have limited time watching this player but there is no way we take this player...NO WAY

I am a McFadden guy all way and that could be a contradiction to the above. I am not saying we cant take a RB with #6, but I am saying if we take a RB at #6 his name better be DMC...

Sorry bro, I just cant see it

I'd rather take Gholston and let him pin his ears back and rush the passer ( which we know he CAN do.... and I am not a Gholston guy)

Interesting Mock, Ham. I can see a lot of thought went into it I think you definitely pegged what the Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks, Patriots want to do in their draft.

A few things. 1) I have a tough time believing Miami doesn't go QB with at least their 2nd rounder.

2) Mendenhall is a surprise. I'm not in particularly in love with it, but it's plausible. Rubin I really like at that spot, just hope he falls there.

3) I think Merling's very disappointing bench makes him fall even more.

4) I personally don't have Limas Sweed as the #1 WR off the board. But with nothing settled at the top WR spot, I guess it's possible.

5) At the end of the day, i still think Dorsey goes over Ellis.

All the players I like for the Jets are at 17 and after. I really want to trade down in this scenario.

Nobody does a mock like you Ham...but I really don't want a RB, especially if it's not McFadden.

I agree Hess.

Would love to have a trade down and pick up a second rounder or trade with Dallas for their two number ones..............

Not feeling this mock Hammer.

Brohm drafted before Ryan and Ryan falling to 14?

All 3 HBs drafted top 8 especially when the Ravens have no need for a RB.

Really dont see that happening.

Hahah....Couldnt wait huh?

I feel the same, Im definetly doing one soon.

-I didnt like the top 5. I think Chris Long, and Jake Long both secured themselves top 3 spots the last few days.

-I dont like the Ravens going Stewart, and paying him more then they just paid Mcgahee.

-Mendenhall would not bother me at all. Good Value, but I would be hoping we fix the Oline before getting him. Btw I think theyll be a market for Gholston to the teams around 10. Because he and Long clearly separated from the pack...and Once Gholston runs a 4.4 at OSU pro day teams will fall in love with him. (Trying to get him before the Pats)

-I think Harvey might have fallen alittle...271 with that time is not good.

-Brian Brohm still over Ryan? Ryan at 14? Brohm had fallen before the combine, came in short, and now many believe he fell even more.

-I really liked your Oline rankings, and where you have all of them....Thats like 8 or 9 solid picks right there(Besides Jake Falling)

-I have this feeling Merling is going to drop out of the first round, and will be available in round 2. Maybe like a Charles Johnson of 08?...Im thinking he runs really poorly.

-LIked the WR rankings....Really want to see what Kelly runs though. Sweed, and thomas def rose, and I think Hardy has to go higher....Desean Jackson is hard to judge...Some team is going to fall in love with those times.

--Tuba!!!! The tuba fever is spreading...He looked really good in those drills and he is the athlete to match the big body. Him in the second round is crucial.

Great mock!!--I gave critisizm because I hope people would do the same with mine of their opinions...Btw Im definetly putting Laws in the first in my mock...Love the guy.

To me, the Ravens are one of the biggest PITA to figure out. A total crapshoot!

I have a feeling that if we drafted Mendenhall it would be one of those picks that I just would not like because i dont feel the need is strong enough, especially with a guy like Gholston there. The guy is a freak, and will be a stud for us, legitamizing the pass rush on the defense.

However, after the fact, when all is said and done, It will be a great pick because I love this guy as a prospect. Just would rather have Gholston this year, IMO.

I tweaked it by swapping Gholston and Stewart, but that's really just a band-aid, really one pick in the TOP 10 should cause a bigger domino effect

Not a chance in hell the Jets draft Rashard Mendenhall at six overall. Not a chance in hell.

16. #16
Okay, I tweaked it with the Jets taking Gholston and the Pats selecting Mendenhall .. that changed a few more picks via the domino effect, but only a few and I'm pretty happy with the revisions

I think Maroney's performance in the playoffs, and the fact the Pats can throw the ball every play will forgo any chance of them taking Mendenhall. But who knows with them slimy bastads.

If DeSean Jackson is there in the 2nd round we must TAKE HIM. Actually I think any of the top 5 WRs available in the 2nd round we should take. But if Jackson is there, that is a no-brainer pick. This kid was easily the best WR in college last year and has soooo much potential. So what if he's 167 lbs, throw him in the gym and give him some quality protein. He'll gain 20 lbs before the season starts if he works hard. If that 5'9" height is real though.....well I still think we take him.
