I just realized that hes not invited to camp this year, y is that? Didn;t he do pretty well last spring? I was really looking forward to seeing him play again.
I guess not, I hadn't even noticed to be honest.
The thing with Carp though is he's really fallen off the prospect map because...
A) He can't hit Lefties, at all. Will at best be a platoon/bench guy.
B) Really bad Defense, even for 1st.
C) Had a down year because he played hurt for most of it.
C is Correctable....I'm not sure the first two are though. And lets not forget that the bar is really high for First Baseman, you have to perform extremely well there to get noticed.
On an aside though, I really like what I'm seeing/hearing from Michel Abreu. He destroyed Binghamton's pitching in 06, splitting POY honors with Carlos Gomez that year before having to sit out last year with Visa Issues. He's like 33 years old now, but I think he could have a few years as a bench player or dare I say it, Platoon with Delgado.
