Pirates at Yankees on YES (Billy Crystal batting leadoff)

    http://yankees.lhblogs.com/

Spring training Game 12: Pirates at Yanks

    March 3

    YANKEES
    Crystal DH
    Jeter SS
    Abreu RF
    Rodriguez 3B
    Matsui LF
    Cano 2B
    Duncan 1B
    Molina C
    Cabrera CF

    Pitching
    Mussina
    Rivera
    Karstens
    Veras

    PIRATES
    Morgan CF
    Wilson SS
    McLouth RF
    Bay LF
    LaRoche 1B
    Doumit C
    Bautista 3B
    Gomez DH
    Cruz 2B

    Pitching
    Maholm
    Wright
    Marte
    Kim
    Grabow
    Carrasco

Notes: Yes, thatís Billy Crystal. Blood and guts one day, let the comedian hit leadoff the next. Ö Itís ex-Yankee Day for the Pirates. They have Jaret Wright, Doug Mientkiewicz, Kevin Thompson and T.J. Beam are on the travel roster.
Why is it that Hughes never pitches on YES.

That is so stupid. I've loved the Yanks my whole life, can I bat leadoff?

Not that I want him to get hurt, but if he got hit by a pitch, I would have to laugh. If I was the pitcher, I'd throw a serious knee buckle curve or a 85 mph brushback pitch, just to say "Welcome, now get out."

If he wants to play with the big boys he shouldnt expect any free passes. I want to see his geriatric a$$ catch up with some mid 90s heat. He hits that then I will change my opinion on this joke of an ordeal.

I really don't like it. I think it's bushleague, and stunts like this should be left to the Pirates and Royals.

It really is strange how the Yankess, considered a very classy organization, have put on this specatacle and are also considering that last game of the stadiums history to be an NHL event. Weird times.

Give Crystal credit, he made Maholm work and had to throw 2 nasty pitches (fastball and slider/or cutter, not sure which) to strike him out.

Billy Crystal did it to appease his mid-life crisis.

    Hardly comparible circumstances.

    Garth Brooks > Billy Crystal.

    Garth Brooks > Billy Crystal.
You people are like little girls over this, for Christ sake it was Derek Jeter's idea for a birthday present, would you turn it down? No you wouldn't, so shut the f*ck up.

The Yankees can never do anything right with you losers.

Whoa. Someone piss in your coffee today, you're the one who brought up Garth Brooks.

Crystal is 60 years old. He's going to have a hell of a long lifespan if he's currently in a mid-life crisis.
