Afghanistan pleasure cruise
I must say, I'm a little envious. If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed.

    It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks.

    George Bush talking to soldiers in Afghanistan

    no you can't make this stuff up. he's jealous of the soldiers. I guess Vietnam wasn't so romantic to him back in the day.

    He may not be a terrible person but calling a soldier's life in Afghanistan "romantic" is at best dumb and at worst terrible.

    Our president really is a dumba**.

    There is just no other way to express it. I'm sure he is a great guy and a lot of fun to chill with and drink beers with. I have a bunch of friends just like him...old high school buddies.

    But just like our current one...they would all make horrible horrible presidents...

    :clapper::clapper::clapper::clapper:

    I don't think there is a more appropriate picture to sum things up. here is a phony who did have the opportunity to live out the "romantic dream" of combat in war!!!

    Instead, he allowed daddy's influence to get him a sweet position in the guard. Meanwhile, his future criminal associate Dick Cheney, was enjoyng 5 deferments while my father was bleeding in Vietnam. God, they can't get out of office soon enough.

    And when a president knowingly misleads the world and sends a nation into war; YES, he is a horrible person.

    But it is a disingenuous comment. When Bush was their age and could participate in nation building he joined the National Guard.

    You should probably find someone in the National Guard and spit on them.

    Granted his wording is hypocritical, but what is he supposed to say?

    no thanks. I have no problem with the military or people who have volunteered.

    You understand that joining the national guard during the vietnam war was a 1 in a million proposition. Also, if you were in the guard and wanted to go to Vietnam all you had to do was ask.
