    Pedro injured. NO!

Looked like a hammy when he pushed off just when it looked like his stuff was getting better.

Damn, looks like it could be a hammy or groin, or probably both.

    Who's gonna get sent up?

    This is bad.

If he hits the DL does Sosa get into the rotation?

I've had hamstring issues. When you pop it bad it is like being shot by a bullet in the back of the leg. The hamstring popped which is what made the rest of his leg jerk, not the other way around (his leg/ankle jerked thus hurting his hammy).

When you have a hamstring injury it is MUCH BETTER to have the injury in your lower hamstring further away from the belly of the muscle. Pedro grabbed at his upper hamstring right below his butt which is very bad news.

If he needs to go on the DL just put Sosa in for a start. Dont rush El Duque back.

Guy is one of the best players in Red Sox history and you rip him every time you get. Some fan you are.

P.S. No one on this site ever ever said Pedro was getting 18 wins.

    Did it look that bad?

I didn't see it, but guys, don't get too carried away just yet. It could be bad, or it could be nothing at all. Don't panic on day 2.

Doesn't look like a day to day thing. I'd be stunned if he's not on the DL tomorrow.

Sigh......he's probably going on the DL.

    Slip Sosa into the rotation.

Pedro is becoming the Duaner Sanchez of Pitchers.

Jorge Sosa in the home opener? It's still better than Mark Henricksen.

His 7th time on the DL.

    Carl Pavano > Pedro.

He wouldn't be a real Red Sox fan if he didn't. That's what they do up there.

Not ripping Pedro. I love Pedro. Ripping the Mets for the contract they gave a fragile guy on the downside.

Tonite proved my point WAY before even I thought.

Without Pedro in 2005, there is no hope for the Mets franchise.

    It's Pedro's Hammy, that's not good.

Plus, this just shows that we can't rely on him throughout the season.

First start, 4 runs in 3 1/3 innings and he's injured?!?!

Wasn't too bad, he was able to walk off under his own power, I didn't see that noticeable a limp. But the Mets will play it safe with him. I suspect he visits the DL just to be safe.

I'd say this is the time to try and stretch out Sosa, give him 3-4 Innings as long as he's pitching well. Although I'd hope Omar is already on the phone with Claudio Vargas' agent just in case.
