    Enlighten us. What happened.

Pretty clever, I would have loved to seen LaRoche hit a ball to LF.

He brought in a LHP, put the RHP in LF then put the RHP back after the LH struck out the batter. He was down to his last couple of relivers since Hampton was scratched.

Their pen is very thin. Rightie comes and gets a rightie. he double switches the pitcher to LF and a lefty pitcher comes in to face a lefty. Then he puts the pitcher from LF back in the game pitching and substitutes the current pitcher for a new LF.

    NADY COMES THROUGH!

Guess it wasn't so genius but it was at the moment!

Too bad the Braves pen still sucks.

Extra innings game + an emergency start due to Hampton's last minute scratch means he needed to be creative and assure he could effectively use all his available arms.

While I don't like calling anyone in sports a "Genius," what he did was very creative and very smart.

Haha. Soriano is always healthy, so what does that say about Gonzo?

That it was a terrible trade for both the Bucs and Bravos. Both players went to crap after they were traded.

Lets just play devils advocate here for a sec.

What if the Pirate batter poped one into left field and the pitcher miss played it?

Not saying it wasnt a good move, but it definitely could have backfired.

Well, Gonzalez was just as dominant as ever last year when he pitched for Atlanta. All 17 innings.
