Giambi has got to go, DFA him like the Jays did with Thomas

Let's see, he refuses to hit the ball the other way, kills rallies and to boot ruins a perfect pick off by throwing the ball into left field. Thankfully Andy did a great job and got out of it. Time to eat that horrible contract.

Why Shelley Duncan isn't on the big club, is beyond me.

They won't DFA him (Unfortunately) but thank God this is his last season here.

It will be a great day when he gets his $5 millionl buyout

I don't think it is all that crazy of an idea. They came very close to doing something last year and did not. With this being the final year I would not be surprised if they went that route especially if he keeps "hitting" like this.

I'd give him another few weeks. He looked great in ST so there is something still there.

    4 more years.

Instead you'll probably end up buying Teixeira in FA after this year.

I'm a Braves fan and I know that a) Tex loves atlanta and grew up a braves fan and b) Frank Wren has said that if Tex performs he'll get 20mil/year from atlanta. This certainly does not preclude the yankees from overbidding; they are the Yankees after all. It does mean that it would be seriously expensive (Especially considering the agent involved).

Even if they do offer 20 million a year, over how many years could be a huge deciding factor. You'd have to offer him at least 7.....and even then who knows because Teixeira turned down 140 million from the Rangers.

Im just not buying him staying there because of the Braves unwillingness to overpay and Scott Boras being his agent. I see him going to the highest bidder for way too much money.

He went to GT, but he grew up in MD and was an Oriole fan.

And whether Atlanta offers 20 million or not he will definately at least hit the open market.

He's from Maryland, but went to school at Georgia Tech.

No idea what team he roots for.

And whoever ends up signing him to a longterm deal after that will regret it IMO.
