    Nothing new here.

He says we need him there now, which is true, it would be great, but he also says this, "It has to be done on a schedule so we don’t rush him.” Seems like the media being the media.

Nothing new, but the more it is said and stated as inevitable the better in my book

Why mess with success? You can't throw gas for 6 innings. Don't expose the kid. BAD move if they do.

He did it all last year in the minors.

    He's a starter. He's always been a starter. He's going to be a starter.

Get use to it people. The kid has too good of stuff to be in the bullpen.

Why not? Plenty of guys last more than 6 innings throwing heat.

An ace is more valuable than a shut down set-up man/future closer and he's got ace potential. He absolutely has to be given a chance to become that ace.

On paper the answer is simple, he's a starter. But I don't know, its a very tough call. Look how valuable Moe is out of the Pen.

If Mo could start, they would make him start. He started his career out that way, and was given opportunities to succeed in that role, but eventually turned into a reliever.

Yup, and it is doubtful his small frame would have held up for 200 innings a year. Plus, as mostly a one pitch pitcher (Joba has 3 pitches that grade out on the scouting scale in the 70-80 range), it was somewhat obvious he should be a reliever.

Anyways, I'm glad this organization will do the right thing with Joba.

I know all the reasons why he should be out of the Pen. I've been through it before. And I do agree that he should start.

    Hank was "misunderstood."

"My point is not to overrule anybody," Steinbrenner said. "The fact of the matter is, Joe (Girardi, the manager), Brian (Cashman, the GM) and everybody in the organization has always thought Chamberlain was a starter. And the goal has always been to get him back to that point."

If Joba does get to the rotation do you guys see Moose exiting and who is your 8th inning pitcher of choice?

I would give Bruney a shot if his control issues are a thing of a past.

Mike and Dog also defended Cashman on the subject.

Moose would likely be finished, but he could stay if Kennedy struggles.

With the 8th inning, Bruney probably has the inside track, even Ohlendorf has an outside shot. Other than them, I'm looking for Melancon, McCutchen, Robertson, or Cox to make a jump.
