Article on the Mets getting "Rickrolled"

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352010,00.html

Once the Mets realized what was happening, they quickly invalidated the results of the poll and decided that on Opening Day, April 8, they'd take the vote to the people.

When Astley's song was played, it was greeted with boos. The Mets had finally overcome rickrolling.

"We're not talking about a nuclear bomb here: It's a fun thing, it's in good fun, and we're not offended," Horwitz said. "But it wasn't a true indicator of our fan base."
So funny. They include a link with a video of the Mets fans booing opening day.

Nothing is more annoying than "Joseeeee Jose Jose Joseee"

Actually, the only thing more annoying is the Mets fan I know who constantly whistles that "Ole" tune.

I'm not against the crowd cheering, but it sounds like crap when blared over the loudspeaker.

    Roll call is awesome.

    Roll call > You

The only people that hate roll call are dopes that wish they had thought about doing it for their team first.

btw, i don't hate it...i could really care less.

my point was that the jose chant is in the same boat. just some stupid thing fans chant while they're at the game.

Didn't the Mariners play "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT" everytime they scored a few runs. I rememeber them playing it over and over when the Yankees played them in the post season a few seasons in a row.

They kind of picked it up over time. The fans started doing it on their own, but the Shea people had to make an audio clip of it to play and "Get the fans pumped up".

As fans would you rather them not play it and let the fans do it on there own? I know if Yankees Stadium ever played audio of the roll call the creatures would probably be very upset.

Anyways, if chants aren't corny they wouldn't catch on.

the jose jose jose chant is one of the best in sports, but now that shea plays it over the speakers it has lost its edge ao to speak.....in 06 it was just the crowd doin it and it was great
