I don't disagree. I just want Edwar there in big spots myself, be it the 7th or the 8th. But yeah, he should be our primary setup man for Mo. Just don't overuse him (and also give Scott Patterson a shot!)

    good start to the weekend.

Why Patterson, though? Because he has paid longer dues than Cox? Or do you want to move slowly with Cox coming off the surgery. In AAA, Cox has been more effective, he has the pedigree, and would have been on this team in early 2007 had it not been for the injury. I have been impressed by Patterson's stats to a point, and i'd trade places with Ohlendorf at this point, but Cox I see as a short man, which is what the team really needs.

By the way, I see people being hard on Dave Robertson in AAA for his BB, however, he still continues to get K's...

Ramirez should definitely at least get a shot at the 8th inning role. He's pitched very well this year and is effective against lefties with that nasty change he has. I don't care what kind of relationship Girardi has with Farnsworth or how he's done a good job lately. I still don't trust the guy at all.

Nice win tonight. I really wasn't expecting us to do much offensively. Mussina did a solid job. I can't believe he already has 8 wins. This was the one game I was worried about so hopefully we can at least take 3 out of 4.

Well we all saw Patterson in ST and I was quite impressed with his curveball and delivery. IMO, he should have made the team out of camp and I'd love to give him a shot now.

Saying that, I also like Cox and Robertson, but yes, I'd definitely rather give Patterson a shot before them.

I don't know you but i think you're basing that on tenure...personally, Patterson doesn't look like much of a pitcher to me. W ith Joba in the rotation, setup needs to be addressed. Ramirez should be option #1, but Cox should be. next. I like pedigree, it's not everything, but he has that and has dominated minor leaguers at every level

Jeter hasnt done anything since he got hit in the hand. Look at how he's swinging right now, he's swinging with 1 hand. He could use a few games off I'd guess.

Yeah, I'd start Betemit at shortstop tonight. It would give us another lefty in the lineup vs the righty.

RHP Nick Blackburn has never faced the Yankees.

Bases loaded. 1 out. A-Rod, Matsui up... and you don't score.

I'd be more bummed if that was the 8th inning, at least we're still in the top of the 4th.

    Bright side, bright side!
