Vote, then, elaborate.
State sponsored terrorists
China/Russia joining forces
China/Russia/India joining forces
Complications resulting from worldwide starvation
Rogue use of nuclear weapons
Vote, then, elaborate.
you should have an "other" choice.
I think our biggest threat is our economy, which I would toss gas prices in there...
nothing is more dangerous than everything getting more expensive due and salaries stay the same....
As a military "threat" outside of Iraq or Afghanistan? Somalia
Why? Because we are already funneling arms, cash, and advisers to the Ethiopian Defense Forces that are occupying Southern Somalia. The situation now resembles Iraq circa 2006; bombings, decapitations, sectarian murders, and guerrilla warfare. The problem is that (unofficially) we have troops and probably contractors fighting with the EDF in Somalia, and the USAF has allowed aircraft to bomb and fire at al-Qaeda safe houses there in search of the men who bombed our Kenyan and Tanzanian embassies in '98. My fear is that there will be a repeat of the Battle of Mogadishu if we start giving the EDF more support than they deserve. This doesn't take into account that the methods of the EDF against the insurgents are nothing short of brutal and indiscriminate.
As a political "threat"? Iran
Iran funds Hezbollah and our enemies in Iraq (Sunni and Shi'a insurgents), they are in the process of building a nuclear weapon, and the international community still remains divided on how to deal with them. Some would argue that they are the greater military threat but if we end up leaving Iraq next year than we will not confront Iran in any forcible manner.
Where's Fox News??? didn't you claim just the other day they were the greatest threat to democracy????
Same threat as seven years ago: unsecured nuclear material & Bin Ladin. Heckuva job Bushies.
Other: Our divided country and our 2 party ploitical system that keeps us divided.
And uninformed voters that vote based on the flimsiest of reasons.
I went with the starvation. Oil prices and mass industrialization/modernization in Asia will further diminish the global energy supply leading to higher prices, higher costs of living and rising costs of food.
And by the way:
China is not a "threat" to Americans, simply to our position as top dog.
China and the United States will never come to blows with each other, we are far too dependent on one another economically. There's no money in fighting. We might stare down each other from time to time, but that's just how things work.
None of the above,,, Wow Jetman starts great topics at the political forum as well!
The ongoing breakdown of the family unit, coupled with our failing education system that is not adequately preparing our children to compete, innovate or thrive in the new global environment, nor instilling in them basic decency, humility or sagacity and instead churning out what has to be the most self-absorbed, spoiled and entitlement-minded generations of children our country has ever seen, all of which is exacerbataed by the concurrent and utter collapse of the existence of shame as a useful societal tool. That is our biggest threat; selfish, bad parenting and bad, non-rigorous educating. Unfortunately, these are moral failings and no political party, program or sum of money will solve or even begin to address this hugely important issue and no one is to blame but us.
