    Why we can't withdraw

    We should maintain a presence in the middle east for the foreseeable future.

    okay genius, so where's the money for this coming from?

    The surplus in the Treasury? oops
    Issue more bonds? can't, because of dollar devaluation
    inflate the currency? whoops sorry
    tax the people during a recession? yikes
    raid social security/welfare? BEST CHOICE AVAILABLE

    Note that I said presence and not continual surge levels.

    How have we paid for our presence in Europe, Korea, etc. all these years?

    we have paid for it with a fiat currency bubble that is bursting right now so this vehicle can no longer be used.
    So how do we continue to pay for it?
