    Yanks Place Pavano on Waivers

The New York Post reports that the Yankees have placed Carl Pavano on waivers.
Pavano joins hundreds of other players who've been placed on waivers this month, but of course his name draws some headlines. He's scheduled to start Friday against the Blue Jays, but the newspaper speculates that "the Mets might be interested in Pavano if the Yankees agree to pick up some of the $3.78 million left on the contract."

With our luck he will be the reason someone wins a WS this year

Mets pay < 2 million in Salary, and give up nothing major and I wouldn't mind taking him on. Could be a decent and more reliable #5 option while Maine is out then the alternatives, as much as I like Niese.

I'm really not too big on Pavano... however, if it's not going to cost that mucha nd the Yankees pickup some of the salary... I'd like to see what he can do in the bullpen.

God knows we need the help.

Is picking up part of his Salary worth it to the Yankees, if he goes to the Mets? If he does well, that would be a nightmare for the Yankees, no?

Mets should seriously trade for Pavano, he has looked good and they can get him for cheap. They really need pitching and the Yanks would be happy to get something.

Ironically, and this is a big IRONICALLY, the dude pitched well today and said all the rigth things after the game. Its hilarious, considering the fricken Yankees cant hit and now the longest of shots the money pit, comes back in great form and they are still barely hitting.

Our pitching is decimated, we keep plugging holes and these Chooches wont hit! Whould a thunk it? (We got lucky tonight, btw)

Pavano, the bum that he is, looked very good last night. I think it was a smart move by Joe yanking him after 6 innings after only 72 pitches or something like that. You could tell he was tiring. Also, I can't believe we actually beat A.J. Burnett.
