Bush Balout of the Macs

Wow, Michael Savage really giving it to George Bush tonight. Called it one of the top 3 financial scandals in US history. Per Savage, Bush is a confirmed socialist and McCain is George Bush III.

I'd take that with a grain, nay a whole shaker of salt coming from a guy who thinks autism is fake, and who used to go skinny dipping w/ Allan Ginsberg.

Mike Savage is a disgusting human being and him saying something drastically increases the odds its false.

What happened with the Macs Sunday was, unfortunately, probably a necessary step given what their failure would do the nation's economy. How it got to that point is a bipartisan scandal with both parties owning a lot of blame.

This was a train that has clearly been coming up the tracks for the better part of the last 6-8 years, and a clear case of insufficient gov't regulation. Plenty of dems and repubs to blame on that score.

when the entire mortgage industry collapses under your watch that's not a good legacy. furthermore the taxpayer bailout pretty much goes against every conservative tenet ever. We talk about welfare and socialism and how it's a bad thing, well 200 Billion to back bad mortgages is some serious friggin welfare.

Remember once upon a time these conservatives were for small government and balanced budgets? All we've seen from them is the exact opposite and they've gone the other way so extreme that they're on the verge of bankrupting this country.

But hey, McCain/Palin don't like fags and women having control of their own bodies and that's what's really important.

I heard some of Savage's show yesterday, this was my favorite line...

"Who do you want in the White House, a man who shot rockets at our enemies from a jet fighter, or a man who shot staples into a telephone pole."

lol, that is gold no matter how you slice it

acepepe only 25 gaffs in the last 3 months still 789 short obamass' record of 1,014 in the same time period. Grows up with an uncle commie, hangs out with commie terrorists. If it looks like a commie and smells like a commie there is a good chance it's a commie.

While I'm sure we all agree with that, unfortunately it's not that simple. I still think this mortgage mess is far from over.

Anyone who disagrees with you is a communist or a terrorist or both? Are you Joe McCarthy?

You're right about it not being that simple.

Yes, you have, in many cases, people who took out bigger loans than they could possibly pay back, or bought homes they couldn't afford or intended to flip and got burned.

But, beyond that, what we have here is a complete breakdown of basic lending practices by the banking industry, fueled by incompetent/nonexistent oversight and greed.

Once upon a time, a bank would not lend the money to someone who couldn't afford the loan. Now, not only do they do it, they literally encourage people who can't afford loans to take them out with all kinds of gimmicky loan products.

The impact of this was a housing bubble fueled by low lending standards that will now cost even responsible home buyers dearly, because those people bought at prices inflated by all the easy money being handed out by banks. Those people will not lose their homes because they can afford their payments, but they will likely lose some or much of their equity because the lax lending standards that drove up the prices they paid are no more.

The macroeconomic consequences of this are profound.

Most of you know that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were created by Congress, right? And, you know that Congress has been pressuring them for years to purchase mortgages from low-income borrowers, right?

And Dems want to create a govt run health care system? NO THANKS.

I was calling Obama a commie, not everybody who dissagrees with me and to further enlighten you look up Frank Marshall Davis, Obamass' "uncle", rabble rouser, America hater and avowed Commie. Also his association with William Aryes and Bernadette Dhorn. I'm sorry, your guy cavorts with terrorist and commies and mine fights them. To me the decision could not be clearer.Hey maybe you agree with a U.S. presidential candidate hanging with terrorist and communist but I don't.

The system worked fine until basic lending standards went out the window in this decade.

There's nothing wrong with making sure banks connect the working poor with mortgages they financially qualify for (which used to be a problem because of redlining and other discriminatory lending practices). There is a problem when you start putting people in houses they cannot afford. Private bankers were the ones who did that, although competent government oversight would have put a stop to it long ago.

I said cavorted with "commiunists and terrorist" and if I had it would be unintentional unlike Barack[the horsey of muhammed] Obama
I know you were making a point about the misspelled word. That cool because you certaily can't defend the horsey for his communist and terrorist ties.

The following message is brought to you by the extreme portion of the Republican base.....

Don't forget to vote out of fear come November 4th!!!

We don't care what you are afraid of. What ever we can whip up will do. Be afraid of Russia and the return of the cold war. we will work hard to provide you with scary stories about Iran being a real threat to us, just like we did with Iraq. Hell we'll whip up some hysteria about Fidel Castro if that will work. And if he is dead, well then will just move on to the next bed time story.

Whatever you do come November 4th, don't vote for a candidate that talks about positive things like hope and change. Instead focus on the possibility that any moment will could blow up or be invaded!!!
