t's like a really bad Disney movie. You know? The hockey mom, 'Oh I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska,' and she's the PRESIDENT, and it's like she's facing down Vladamir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It's absurd, it's totally absurd, and I don't understand why more people aren't talking about how absurd it is. It's a terrifying possibility. The fact that we've gotten this far and we're that close to this being a reality is crazy.

I need to know if she really think that dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago. I want to know that, I really do. Because she's gonna have the nuclear codes.
i laughed so hard

Yeah, that's much scarier than someone being in charge who's greatest accomplishment in life is being a "commmunity activist".

I guess being a U.S Senator, like John McCain is, isn't an accomplishment.

No. It's not. it would rank it right below 'ditch-digger' on my list of useful occupations.

In another thread someone asked what people mean by "elite", and why is it a bad thing. As a Supreme Court Justice once said, I can't define pornography, but I know it when I see it. Well, I'm not sure I can define what people mean by "elite" when they use it as a bad thing, but I think I just saw it. Why does he feel the need to dminish her. It's one thing to question her experience, it's another to simply dismiss it. Sorry, Matt, we all can't go to Harvard and Yale, some of us go to schools like the University of Idaho, but that doesn't mean we can't be as smart as you.

Matt Damon officially endorsed Barack back in December 2006. How much "experience" did Obama have then? (not that he has much now)

I'm also glad to see, that in addition to Matt Damon's many other talents, he's able to calculate the odds of McCain dying in his first term (33%).

    Celebrities crack me up.

Is there a job on the entire planet that is more insignificant to the way of the world? Yet, celebrities think they are the most socially significant people on the palnet. And the worst part about it is that these jackasses actually influence the decision making of the masses.

Wow, now I guess I know what "stupidity" is, and why its a bad thing. Why is it "elitist" to want to know if she wants to ban books or is she believes in creationism? Its insulting to even your intelligence to knock that up to "elitism."

You saw what 8 years of a"non-elitist," "regular guy you can have a beer with" president has gotten us, how can you possibly still trot out that lame, tired old card and keep a straight face.

Wow, this is the genious of the RNC. You actually put George W. Bush, the son of a president, the grandson of Senator Prescott Bush, Harvard grad, etc, etc,... in the category of a "regular guy".

As far as "elitist", I think you had a knee jerk reaction and missed my point. Why is Damon make so much of her experience as a "hockey mom"? He is being dismissive of her. Please, she is a person who has had a lifetime of experiences, education, and accomplishments. He seems to just dismiss her without thought. As far as banning books, he should want to know that; censorship is bad. As far as her faith and creationism, I guess this could be a consideration - for him. I do not think it has any bearing on her abilities. My statement was focused on his dismissive attitiude toward her and my belief that this is what people mean whe they use the term "elite" as a bad thing.

Politicians and Actors have the same jobs. They're both paid an inordinate amount of money to be very good at lying and being full of s***. Sounds to me like a match made in heaven. Neither should be influencial but alas, we live in a country where Matt F-ing Damon's opinion is cared about. Good. We're moving forward. Can't wait for this election.

    we're screwed.

    We need a revolution.

I was going to argue you with you too, but I'm glad I didn't. You always make me laugh and then I just feel like I'm being petty.

    Freestater for President!!!

Oh wait, that job would be beneath you.

Freestater for Director of Drug Enforcement!!! First action: biggest layoff in government history.... :D
