McCain campaign blames Obama for personally "assaulting" and "attacking" supporters.
Earlier today, Obama remarked on recent outbursts of "Traitor!" "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!" at McCain campaign events. "It's easy to rile up a crowd," Obama said. "Nothing's easier than riling up a crowd by stoking anger and division. But that's not what we need right now in the United States."

In response, McCain senior adviser Nicolle Wallace released this statement, NBC's Kelly O'Donnell reports. "Barack Obama's assault on our supporters is insulting and unsurprising. These are the same people obama called 'bitter' and attacked for 'clinging to guns' and faith. He fails to understand that people are angry at corrupt practices in Washington and Wall Street and he fails to understand that America's working families are not 'clinging' to anything other than the sincere hope that Washington will be reformed from top to bottom."

"Attacking our supporters is a new low for the campaign that's run more millions of dollars of negative ads than any other in history."

*** UPDATE *** McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers adds in another statement: “Barack Obama’s attacks on Americans who support John McCain reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn’t understand regular people and the issues they care about. He dismisses hardworking middle class Americans as clinging to guns and religion, while at the same time attacking average Americans at McCain rallies who are angry at Washington, Wall Street and the status quo."
You read something like this, and it's just, like...what? Did Nicolle Wallace and Brian Rogers fall out of a parallel universe?

No, it just shows how truly desperate they are, and how stupid they think the American public is. So they're right on both accords.

Earth to Nicole Wallace: McCain's supporters were screaming "kill him" and "off with his head" at his rallies. Does she think it was out of line for Obama and Biden to condemn them?

    Does she not condemn that?

    Sheesh.

I was listening to Sean Hannity in my car last night and some lady called in to his show all pissed off. She said the Obama campaign called her asking if she would support him on election day, she went into a tirade and started talking about Obama turning the country socialist and how he allowed dead babies on the floors of hospital rooms. Well it turned out the Obama caller misinturpreted her hateful rant and thought she was threatening Obama so he called the secret service. The SS came and interviewed the lady and she feels like her rights were violated.

I have to hand it to Hannity though, he actually told her the SS should take every threat seriously because there are a lot of wakkos out there and that she shouldn't be so upset.

Because there are a large number of claims that the event in question never happened Nuu, not the way the media has reported it at least.

Given the sudden nasty turn of recent days, the media seems quite off put that the right is getting pissy at it.

I can't say, I wasn't there, of course. But the selective outrage IS a bit curious, given the many man mnay things Obama supporting libs have said should happen to President Bush over the past 8 years. "Kill Him" and "Off with his head" are tame in comparison.

Or is it a different standard now, because Obama is black?

John McCain's campaign is run by a bunch of stupid golly gee fiddlesticks well I never dogginit. Utterly mind-blowing. These morons don't realize they are losing because they are too busy shoving their heads up each others gee willikers. No level of vulgarity-laden ranting can describe the vastness of these peoples utter lack of basic cognitive thinking.

They ought to just concede the race to Obama before they expose themselves further for the giant walking vaginas that they are. A small non-representative group of your followers called for the death of US public figure. OK. The left is not above reproach when it comes to this...I've seen worse about Bush. But to try some slick political maneuver and make it seem as if Obama is attacking your supporters. Blindingly stupid. It's no wonder John McCain is losing. His staff is comprised of people who practice self lobotomy.

    They're making **** up, 'Fish...

I heard it myself on videotape last night. I can't remember what the clip was about...all I remember is McCain was saying something about Obama being un-American and someone yelled "Kill him"...he did make a face like he was repulsed by the comment. Both me and my wife heard it...and used the Tivo to make sure our ears were not playing tricks on us.

    "Kill him"...exactly what I heard...

    edit: Found the clip

And if he doesn't get elected, millions of nuts are going to riot and smash windows and burn our cities. I really believe that.

Dude, before you blow a gasket. Do you have anything to say when your liberal left said the same stuff to me and the rest of the military back in the 60's, or it's just wrong because if affects your guy?

All I have to go on is what I read, which has been reported multiple times and confirmed.

I do not ever remember anyone cheering for Bush to be assasinated, or called a terrorist, at a John Kerry or John Edwards rally. I may be proved wrong on this, but I don't remember that ever happening, certainly not within earshot of a candidate.

I'm not saying there aren't plenty of unhinged leftists out there. God knows, you could fill a phone book. And the likes of MoveOn certainly have no shortage of bile.

But to see it in plain sight like this is unusual, and, to me, concerning.

Now, is it possible I'm viewing through a different lens because he's black? Perhaps. But, then again, that lens isn't exactly based on nothing. Just ask MLK or Medgar Evers.

    Look at my post.

I'm not "blowing a gasket" because of the off hand remarks made by people not representative of the McCain campaign and Republican party. Look closely.

Did you notice how I said the left is not above reproach. And also that I have heard worse directed toward Bush?

    Ok. That's settled.

Now...if you notice, I'm blowing a proverbial gasket because of the utter stupidity of the McCain campaign. You don't take something like this and flip it around to attack your opponent. You say that comments like this are utterly disgusting and uncalled for. You then, as a campaigner, would probably mention the 60's and the rabid left as a way of putting heated emotions into perspective. At least...that's what a good campaign manager would have done.

Not say Obama is attacking them. That's just gosh darn stupid.
"Kill him"...exactly what I heard...
I don't doubt that. What we don;t know is who said it, and which campaign they work for.

No doubt, it certainly couldhave been one angry (stupid) McCain supporter. Wouldn't doubt that for a second.

Could also be a plant a la Hillary Clinton. Or a media plant, I have no faith in THEIR honesty at this point. One need only look at the coverage to see their bias in their descriptions of McCains supporters, generally speaking of course.

As I said, I wasn't there. Same as I have not been to an Obama rally, to hear what his supportes may or may not have said that could be deemed offensive. Suprisingly, there has been no talk that way, of course. Guess Obama's supportes would never say anything offensive, right?
All I have to go on is what I read, which has been reported multiple times and confirmed.
Well, that may be one difference between you and I. I do not neccessarily believe "what I read' from the media any longer.
I do not ever remember anyone cheering for Bush to be assasinated, or called a terrorist, at a John Kerry or John Edwards rally. I may be proved wrong on this, but I don't remember that ever happening, certainly not within earshot of a candidate.
Really? Don't recall the move about Bush being assassinated? Don't recall liberals calling Bush the "real terrorist"? Really Nuu? Come on.....:rolleyes::rolleyes:
I'm not saying there aren't plenty of unhinged leftists out there. God knows, you could fill a phone book. And the likes of MoveOn certainly have no shortage of bile.

But to see it in plain sight like this is unusual, and, to me, concerning.
Well, guess it comes down to what the media shows you as "plain sight". Protestors have been at many of McCains rallies, and said some stunningly offensive things.

But the media doesn't show that. Or write it.

Hence you don't see it. Because you believe what you read. Right?
Now, is it possible I'm viewing through a different lens because he's black? Perhaps. But, then again, that lens isn't exactly based on nothing. Just ask MLK or Medgar Evers.
Guess JFK and RFK might have somethign to say too Nuu. Hate doesn't only flow in one direction in the issue of race, despite what the media tell you.
