Went to vote last night on the way home from work; interesting experience:
1. I know old people are the bulk of volunteers, but jeez. They look up my name in the book to sign in, the woman tells me to sign on line 6, and that's not the correct line. I'm on line 5 and start signing there when she starts raising her voice. I calmly pointed out she was incorrect and showed her. Could I have gotten arrested for starting a commotion?
2. The American Legion hall where I voted was packed, mostly with minorities with problems: folks at the wrong voting place, not registered, complaining about disenfranchisement. Really? In New York? As if the election results are not already decided? I guess they just wanted to be able to tell their descendants that they voted in the historic 2008 vote. Where were they before this?
