According to Gammons people within the Yankees organization believe Mark Teixeira could be a Tino/O'Neill type player for them. Really most of the Yankees want Teixeira, Hank and some others want Manny.
We'll see what happens, I also read that the Yankees are pressing Pettitte to make a decision soon. As they have a deal that could be made with Derek Lowe if they can't get Pettitte to sign.

Thats posturing on the Yankees part.

Them getting Manny wouldnt surprise me if hes just sitting there in January but I dont see them going out of their way to pursue him.

Give me Manny with a 4 year deal and Pettite with a 1 year deal and I'll be very pleased with this off-season.

I want absolutely no part of a 4 year deal for Manny. And if he gets a 2 year deal, I could see him pulling a "Manny" and not giving full effort. Pretty much, I do not want Manny at all.

Well the only thing is there is a legitimate chance that the Yankees do sign those two players. I'd say it's a small chance, but it is a chance nonetheless.

Personally, I'd prefer Dunn and not have the distractions.
