Mets in negotiations with Randy Wolf

reported on another site, but was heard on 1050 espn.

I really only like this move if he is going to be a #5. I think a rotation of

    Santana
    Maine
    Ollie/Lowe
    Pelf
    Wolf

would be very nice. Niese could fill in for injuries or to give the starters rest.

He's definately not my first choice, or even my second choice, but there's something to be said about a 4.30 ERA pitcher, which is right in line with his career numbers. Niese has some potential, but could just as easily prove not to be ready.

Still, get me Lowe or Perez.

I don't mind him as a #4/#5 starter but if they think he alone will cure our rotation problems they are insane. We need Perez back, Sheets or Lowe. I want Perez back.

I think it would be a good move if he's there to be your #5 starter, but if he's there to replace Perez and be your #3 or whatever, I'd say that's not the greatest move. Lowe would be nice if you could afford him.
